Maiden as a Landscape
69cm × 103cm
Tufted tapestry mounted on MDF board.
Maiden as a Landscape is the first realm within the Hyperworlds collection. Set on a springtime sunrise, the work represents the transition from girlhood into adulthood. Perception sharpens and the world begins to unfold with new meaning. Blossoming rose buds appear throughout the landscape as symbols of potential and power yet to be unleashed.
The eye motif represents observation and learning; suggesting a heightened awareness of self and surroundings. A bridge stretches across the composition as a symbolic crossing point: the threshold between girl and womanhood.
Each Hyperworlds sequence is designed as a complete three-part set. Collectors who acquire both large works (landscape and map) will receive the smaller piece (relic) as part of the complete collection.

The Maiden as a Map
67cm × 103cm
Tufted tapestry mounted on MDF board.
The Maiden as a Map draws upon the medieval tradition of maps as spiritual tools rather than true representations of geography. This work imagines the inner world of the Maiden as a symbolic terrain of growth. Blossoming roses and verdant spring gardens surround a depiction of the medieval labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral.
Unlike a maze which is designed to confuse you, this labyrinth contains a single winding path leading toward the eye of self — a symbol of self-knowledge. It suggests that there are no wrong turns on the journey toward understanding oneself, but the journey to get there is long and winding.
Each Hyperworlds sequence is designed as a complete three-part set. Collectors who acquire both large works (landscape and map) will receive the smaller piece (relic) as part of the complete collection.
