Join me for another solo exhibition (yes, another one!) This time at the Library at the Dockat Docklands. Riding the success of last year’s Hyperglyphs, Hyperworlds will be even bigger and have even more tufted, textured treats to tantalize!

Hyperworlds is inspired by medieval cartographic traditions — where maps reflected systems of belief rather than physical geography. This collection reimagines four female archetypes as ideological landscapes.

Like medieval maps that placed the sacred at their spiritual centre while the margins teemed with the strange and unknown, Hyperglyphs charts emotional and psychological territories rather than fixed locations.

Central to the work is a reverence for feminine inheritance and the matriarchal figures who shape personal identity and mythology. Through tactile yarn surfaces and hyperreal textures, Sarafian constructs imagined worlds informed by symbolism and storytelling.

Dreamlike relics merge into tactile landscapes that map the shifting inner worlds across a lifespan; from girlhood, womanhood and into old age.

These works explore the invisible maps women inherit and create to understand identity, femininity and our place in the world.
