PB5 Series

The PB5 Purse is a wearable soft sculpture born from the intersection of public infrastructure and personal expression. Inspired by Australia’s iconic audio-tactile pedestrian button (PB5), this piece reimagines a utilitarian object as a vessel of style, memory, and meaning. It is both playful and purposeful—a signal to look again at the built environment we move through each day.

Constructed from bright, touchable textiles sourced from my imagined urban dreamscape, the PB5 Purse buzzes with tactile curiosity and colour. It combines soft textures with hard symbolism—bridging accessibility, authority, and absurdity. Silver chain straps recall fenced-off zones and restricted spaces, now reworked into wearable defiance.
